Motor Management Can Reduce Repair Costs by 50 Percent

The facilities infrastructure that we maintain use a large number of motors of various capacities and types in many types of applications. In fact without electric motors that convert electrical energy into mechanical energy, most of our work will not get done. Thus motors are one of the largest energy consumers in any infrastructure set up.

This would mean that any energy conservatioin programme should definitely look into optimum utilisation of motors through periodic maintenanance and operations management. The linked article is from the February 2010 issue of Maintenance Solutions magazine. The article is in three parts.

A story of two wolves

Hi all,

I came across this very short story in one of the websites. Please read.

Two Wolves
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, “My son, the battle is between two “wolves” inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other one is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
